There are more than 520 international students from 45 countries and regions studying in Bethune Medical Department of Jilin University. Most of them come from Africa and Central Asia. The school has provided them with comfortable apartments, education in English, and has actively guided them to understand Chinese culture through various practices, to help them realize the dream of a career in medicine.

20-year-old Indian student Xin Ge (Chinese name) plays video game during the midday rest on Nov. 17. He said during the stay for more than one year in China, he has learned not only the professional skills but also Chinese language, food culture and customs. Even the popular online shopping in China has influenced his spending habits. "We will return to our country and become a doctor after graduation, but we will also be China's international friends who will spread Chinese culture in the world," said Xin Ge.
