A medical delegation attends the Conference of the Association of Sino-Russian Medical Universities

On May 27, Professor Li Hong, the Executive Vice President of SCU, entrusted by the President of SCU, Academician Xie Heping, led a delegation to attend the Conference of the Association of Sino-Russian Medical Universities with the invitation from the Council of Association of Sino-Russian Medical Universities and the President of Bashkir State Medical University, Russia. The Conference is a part of a series of activities of the summit meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRIC Nations in 2015. Hence, the sponsor attaches great importance to the Conference and warmly receives the participating delegations. The President and Health Minister of Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic separately met with five presidents from Chinese universities including Professor Li Hong, the Executive Vice President of SCU, and the presidents from medical universities in Russia.

On May 28, the medical delegation led by the Executive Vice President Li Hong attended the Conference held by the Standing Council of Association of Sino-Russian Medical Universities. Li Hong introduced the strong development momentum of SCU and the achievements in medical education & scientific research and medical &health services under the multidisciplinary incentive policies of SCU in recent years. He noted, SCU attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation; as Russia and China have a long-lasting deep friendship, and Russia is the most important partner of “One Belt and One Road” development strategy, SCU will be committed to all-round cooperation and communication in many aspects such as: joint exploration and research of cultures between China and Russia, development of Student Summer Camps and Winter Camps, exchange of medical students, and cooperative training of young teachers and high-quality academic seminars, etc.

On May 29, the delegation attended the academic seminars of the cardio-cerebrovascular department, pediatrics, obstetrics and the skill training of medical students, etc., respectively. At 15:00 p.m., Professor Pavlov, the President of Bashkir State Medical University, Russia, the organizer of the Conference of the Association of Sino-Russian Medical Universities, met with the delegation headed by the Executive Vice President Li Hong. Both sides introduced the history and development of their universities in detail, and discussed the details of future cooperation. Both sides decided to dispatch 10-15 medical undergraduate students to the other side each year, so as to learn the language and culture and participate in clinical practices, train the graduate students and push forward the exchange project of resident doctors and specialist as well as exchange of teachers and researchers in a cooperative way. The President of Bashkir State Medical University said he would like to lead a delegation to visit SCU at the end of this year or the beginning of the next year.
